Massage Therapist

The Ranch & Spa Massage Therapist is responsible for providing clientele with professional service, recommendations, and treatments of the highest caliber in keeping with established standards. Services may include, but are not limited to: massage relief for back pain, stress, and post-injury.

Responsibilities

  • ​​​​​​​Ensures the “Ranch Experience” for members and guests by maintain the established standards
  • Becomes knowledgeable about the facility and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with member and/or guests
  • Becomes knowledgeable in the line of products carried, their uses, prices, etc.
  • Understands and practices universal precautions when providing services
  • Assesses client’s contraindications which may limit or prevent services taking place
  • Maintains all certificates based on services offered and provided
  • Recommends products for home use and suggests other beneficial treatments and/or services offered by the spa
  • Understands ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests
  • Answers questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Customizes treatments based on present condition(s) including but not limited to:
  • Back pain
  • Circulatory and respiratory problems
  • Muscle and related conditions such as spasms, strains and sprains
  • Post-injury and post-surgical
  • Stress and stress related condition
  • Performs all treatments on service menu based on current certifications
  • Uses time efficiently throughout shift and begins and ends all appointments on time
  • Maintains clean work area free from clutter and personal effects
  • Sets area according to procedures and cleans and disinfects all equipment between each client or service
  • Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes
  • Maintains monthly inventory of supplies and products and informs Spa Director or supervisor of any product needs
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and professional trainings
  • Performs all duties in adherence to OTOW standards
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Previous massage therapy experience required
  • Current valid Massage Therapy License required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English, have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • PC proficiency is essential
  • Ability to establishes rapport with others and cultivate relationships easily​​​​​​​
